Got a coffee from here before boarding a boat to Russel island for the day. Great coffee, they have alternative milks. This spot opens early which is nice. The location is on a side street, some outdoor seating available right outside or a quick walk to the beach.

A fab little cafe in Paihia. The matcha latte here was good. I'm still thinking about the cheese and greens scone which was delicious. Note, the staff seemed understaffed on both occasions we visited and it was a bit of a wait for our drinks, but worth it as they were good - just something to bear in mind if you're in a rush.
Cool interiors and loved the vibe of the place. Loved that all the food was vegetarian!!

My wife and I are at Paihia in New Zealand's Northland, on holiday celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and needed a good cafe to enjoy our morning coffee and tea. We were thrilled with our experience at Third Wheel Coffee, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the coffee and tea were spot-on, and the food was so fresh and flavourful. If you're visiting Paihia and are needing a bit of cafe therapy / indulgence, I highly recommend stopping by! Thanks!!

Great coffee and pastries. Coffee is excellent. Date scones were amazing and muffins good too.
Nice quiet location in laneway. Both shades and sunny on either side of lane. Staff really friendly and helpful.
Definitely a repeat customer.
