Their hot food Ive found, for the most part nice, but bought a custard square today. The sides of the custard were dried and brown and curled in on one corner and it tasted a little stale. Looked like It had been sitting on the display tray for a while, probably several days. I’d left by then, so just ate it anyway. My last bite left me with a really bitter metallic taste in my mouth and I needed to eat something else to remove the metal taste. Disappointing, as there’s nothing like a good custard square.

Just visited this place and got a steak and kidney pie, a potato top pie and a Sally Lunn bun. The first pie was chewy/gamy and overly salty, the second one tasted old (potato was crusty) and the Sally Lunn used icing instead of fresh cream. Saving grace was the server was quick and looked like he knew what he was doing. The previous ratings are clearly from locals that have rose tinted glasses. Sorry I listened to the hype of the reviews.

Awesome family owned business.
I've lived here 13yr in Onerahi, this is the best bakery in whangarei hands down. Friendly as, loved seeing the kids grow up and now helping out in the shop.
The food... Yes omg yes... My favourites and will always go for is the Chelsea bun, so soft and sweet, love that they don't put any sultana in the bread.
Steak and kidney pies are the best every.
100% best bakery.
Oh the rest of the family will devour butter chicken pies, hot chip, cream doughnuts, fried chicken, oh they love it all.

Great range of food/ drink at reasonable prices. We live in Auckland and always stop in to grab lunch for the family whenever we’re up in Whangarei.
Hot chips are great and so are the bacon and egg sandwiches. Keep up the good work.
