After dining here more than once, we found the coffees and the dishes from the menu to be consistently satisfactory. I highly recommend getting the toasted Ham and Egg Sandwich from the cabinet, it was ridiculously tasty and deliciously cheesy!
Cafe was lovely, the staff were welcoming and helpful. Service can be a little slow at lunchtime during the holiday periods.
If possible, sit in the outdoor area. The views were beautiful.

We ordered mini breakfast and kumara and feta fritter with salmon, and they were great. Poached eggs were perfect. Pecan pie was a bit on the sweeter side, but it's still good. The first pie served has a white hair strand on the edge. They happily exchanged it with a new slice, which is a plus in their service. However, i think they need to clean tables quicker than the seagulls, as they feast on left overs. Good area to see the basin view.

This review is based solely on the lovely lady that served me Saturday 24 Jan 2026 10am.shift. 4 x people dining, multiple menu changes to our order and she took it all in stride with a smile and the food was exactly as ordered.

It's with great regret I post a poor review. We've usually enjoyed everything about Mocaba but our last 2 visits have been unsatisfactory. Luke warm coffee with a harsh after taste and our toastie sandwich only singed on the outside and lukewarm on the inside. The cheese was still unmelted.

Food was good but there are better value places in town. Cafe is looking run down, duct tape holding high chair together, cutlery bent, table numbers falling apart. Needs some money spent on tidying the place up considering how busy it is.
