Hidden gem in Whangārei. The Handsome Frog has a really cozy, laid back vibe and the food is seriously good. Our handmade sourdough base pizzas for dinner were so fresh! You can tell a lot of care goes into the food by the friendly accomodating staff, overall the selection is great too.
Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area. Easy nearby parking.

Had a delicious pizza meal the other night. They do the Italian restaurant perfectly: checkered tablecloths, music etc. Most importantly the pizza was yummy and they have a liquor license too. Highly recommended

If you are looking for a fantastic local spot, the Handsome Frog Artisan Bakery is an absolute must-visit.
I’m a big fan of a great coffee, and they nail it every single time—perfectly brewed, smooth, and the ideal way to start the day. But the real stars of the show? The pies. Hands down, they make the best pies around! The pastry is beautifully flaky, the fillings are incredibly flavorful, and you can truly taste the quality and care that goes into their artisan baking.
Great atmosphere, excellent treats, and wonderful service. Highly recommended!
