Enjoyed our breakfast this morning. Good prices. The white chocolate iced mocha is sooooo good. Try it. The shop has had a make over but you cant miss them.
This is the face of a happy man. Ate here on the 7th of April 2026 with my husband and two girls. The food was absolutely delicious - we had a fruity and bacon hotcake, chicken sandwich, monster breakfast and the corn fritters. Clean plates all round! The toast in the monster breakfast in particular was fantastic. The service was also great. Will be back the next time we’re in Whangārei 🤗
It was a really nice cafe for breakfast and iced mocha! We split this amazing Belgian waffle with bacon on top. Then layered sliced banana, crispy almond slivers, fresh blueberry compote, all topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! It was so good. They even have tables outside.
Everything about this cafe is amazing. Incredible staff, wonderful food and awesome coffee ☕️. Stop in and say hello and have a great time.
I went to fresh cafe today and their food is very expensive and overpriced the chicken schnitzel that was meant to come with a salad and potato roasties was hardly a salad it only had literally tomato and lettuce in the salad that's it and there were only 4 little half skinny slithers of tomatoes in there the salad was literally only lettuce and had hardly any tomato in it and had nothing else in it. They ran out of the potato roasties it was meant to come with as well so they had to give me some has browns instead. I then asked her if I could please have some tomato sauce for the schnitzel and the lady went to find out and said oh sorry you have to pay 50 cents for a little tiny thing of tomato sauce which is ridiculous considering I had just paid over $35 for my whole meal but I paid the 50 cents anyway. The whole time the staff stood there staring at me non stop while they were talking about something and they stood there and made it very obvious that they were staring at me which made me feel extremely uncomfortable as I couldn't even eat my lunch in peace without being watched!! I definitely wouldn't recommend fresh cafe and wouldn't come back here ever again as it has bad vibes and I don't feel comfortable trying to eat my lunch with 3 of the staff members staring at me constantly the whole time and making it very obvious!! The salad still could of had more tomato in it I'm sorry to say but even if it normally comes with mushroom sauce and onion and dressing that's hardly a salad as a salad normally contains a few other ingredients. I get that they ran out of potato toasties which is fine but they could of planned for this by ordering more ahead of time to make sure they would have enough on hand. Also in every other cafe I've been to none of them have tried to charge me 50 cents for tomato sauce they will normally happily give it to you for free with your meal especially after you have just paid out $35 for a whole meal!! Fresh cafe makes it feel like their doing you a favour by serving you when in reality you could tell they weren't very friendly and no-one wants to sit there and eat lunch and have 3 staff members staring at you intensely in a creepy way the whole time while your trying to eat your food either it's a huge put off and you can't relax while you eat without being watched or stared at by the staff constantly!! I will never go here again this cafe is very expensive and a complete rip off!! Also me asking to have my food the way I wanted it didn't significantly affect the taste or flavour at all the meal still would of been very bland and flavourless even if they did add everything into it and I'm not the 1st person on here either to say the food is very bland tasting and has no flavour!!
