We went there as a group of five on a Saturday, fully expecting it to be packed and hard to navigate. Thankfully, the space is much larger than we anticipated, and we were able to find seating and parking without any stress. That already set a really positive tone for the visit.
The atmosphere is truly something special. The design of the entire place, especially the courtyard, is so impressive and thoughtfully done. It feels warm, inviting, and beautifully curated. I could not stop admiring and capturing all the little details that made the space feel unique and intentional.
As for the food, we were extremely satisfied with everything we ordered. The mushroom toast was full of flavour and perfectly balanced, and the kumara stack was just as impressive, both in taste and presentation. You can tell care goes into both the ingredients and the execution.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Great space, great food, and a relaxed but lively atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place

We visited as a group of four on a Saturday. The shop was crowded, but the space was surprisingly large with easy seating and parking, which set a great tone. The atmosphere stood out, especially the beautifully designed courtyard, full of thoughtful details. The food was excellent: the seafood pasta was flavourful and balanced, and the creamy prawns was impressive. This was a fantastic experience with great food, space, and vibe - highly recommended.

Fabulous place! We spent a few days in Mangawhai over the holidays and stopped at Bennett’s Café for breakfast on our way back to Auckland. The place was buzzing with a great atmosphere. The food and service were excellent, and we thought the prices were very reasonable. We also loved being able to watch the chocolate being made. This all made for a fun experience. We also appreciated the cafe having tables outside in front which were dog friendly.
We had eggs benedict and eggs on toast with bacon. Both were excellent and the coffee was nice and smooth - delicious!
Thank you to Bennett's Cafe! We will stop by again when we're in the area.

The service was great, and the atmosphere is absolutely superb—such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a meal. It really creates a lovely overall experience.
As for the food, it was good, though there are a few small areas that could be improved. We ordered the creamy mushroom with toast, and while the flavour was nice, the toast was slightly overdone. The chocolate chip pancake was also enjoyable, but it had fewer chocolate chips than expected. That said, it came generously topped with strawberries and blueberries, which we really liked and appreciated.
Overall, it was still a nice dining experience, and with a few small adjustments, it could be even better

Located next to the Bennetts Chocolate Shop. They have freshly cooked breakfast and lunch on the menu, as well as some cabinet food. We ordered a Wagyu Beef Burger, Smashed Avo and Kid's Omelet. As well as the Seafood Pasta and some sides. It's best to find a table and then go up and order as it can be busy in the weekends
